Excuse me if this has been flagged up already. but an interesting clip was found in the ATV today archive. This was to celebrate the Crossroads 500 edition and shows some of the plots going on in 1966. Crossroads didnt leave the studio much in the 1970s-80s if I recall correctly, so seeing Sandy doing a bit of pot holling and Carlos the chef involved in a fight in a factory was very surprising for me. www.macearchive.org.uk/Media.html?Title=32244#Note.some of the sound is missing as it was obviously talked over in the studio.

Thanks for flagging that up Gareth, loved it, here is the link to the actual Crossroads piece. www.macearchive.org/Archive/Title/atv-today-30091966-crossroads-500th-episode/MediaEntry/32244.htmlA reminder too that Crossroads left the studio on many occasions in the 1960s and poor old Carlos the Chef got into many distressful situations including meeting his double up the Eiffel Tower (IIRC or was it a dream? LOL). I think maybe the last major outing for the film unit was the devil worship story line in the churchyard around 1970?Then as we know Crossroads more or less retired to the studio with the occasional VT OB. I wonder what the story is behind this IE did Crossroads have its budget cut? ..or maybe being on a tiny budget anyway, it was just a gentleman's agreement that the news dept supplied a film unit to them that they could not provide any longer due to circumstances?

I recall a trip to Tunisia for a staff holiday back in about 1967 too. Plenty of actual location shooting there. I also remember the devil worship and Eiffel Tower storylines - the show didn't stand still for long!
