Lost Shows has two of these, both from 1971,and both missing. The ITN database has one from 1974.Does anyone know how many there were altogether?

Stanley Baxter? I suppose, judging by the title, these are compilations of other material. So presumably the originals these were compiled from will exist? Who made them? LWT?

Lostshows has a full title, The Stanley Baxter Show: Best of Baxter. This is separate from the 1974 compilation LWT, which is made up of sequences as John has just described. The Shows that the sequences are from, Lostshows has as existing under Stanley Baxter. Best Of Baxter 1971 was shown on BBC 1, so the following two dates are the tx dates shown on BBC 1. Usual duration 30 minutes. 13/12/71 Cast as on Lostshows. Written by Neville Phillips, Stan Mars, Denise Coffey and Ken Hoare. A 16 mm b/w telerecording exists on an excerpt. 20/12/71 Cast as on Lostshows + Eileen McCallum, Harry Glass and the BBC Scottish Radio Orchestra. Written by Iain McIntyre, Hector Nicol, Jack Raymond and Denise Coffey.

Thanbks,Stephen. So there really were two 'Best Ofs' in 1971.We used to so look forward to the Stanley Baxters,as we did with Benny Hill, but his reputation doesn't seem huge now.
