Bought this wonderful box set a while ago, still wading through the eps. Just a query. How come this series is complete why so many around that time, especially from ITV are incomplete or totally missing? Was it the policy of ATV to keep telerecordings of everything, did they sell George and the Dragon abroad, or did writers Vince Powell and Harry Driver insist on ATV keeping a copy of every episode?
Whatever the reason, its a fantastic series, and well done Network for releasing it. Now awaiting delivery of Bless This House series 1, the first time the b/w colour strike eps have been available in this country on dvd (barring getting the Umbrella DVD from Oz)
All the best Mark D

dont forget the other sid james sitcom ' two in clover ' is on special offer at network
You have an interesting point as the later peggy mount ATV comedy 'lollipop loves mr mole" is thought to be completly gone.
IF your DVD episodes have an ITC credit rather than an ATV one then this means they were export prints.

Thanks for that. All the eps have ATV London front caps and 'ATV Production' endcaps, so they all seem to be from domestic prints. They are all excellent quality too, bar the 1966 Christmas Special which seems to be have been manhandled a bit. Apart from that they are fantastic, virtually VIDFIRE quality.
