A couple of weeks ago, Challenge showed the 100th edition of Family Fortunes, hosted by Bob Monkhouse, which started with a quick celebratory retrospective feature showing clips from previous editions - anyone know whether any of these are from now-missing shows? I suspected at least one might be - it showed Nicholas Parsons' family in a celebrity edition, which according to Lost Shows only exists on domestic format (29.01.82). Can anyone enlighten? The clips mostly covered the final round (Big Money) and families winning.
Thanks, as ever

According to Wikipedia the first 4 series of the show consisted of 107 episodes, 79 of which have been wiped.
And this is for a popular series that started in the 1980s when wiping was supposed to have stopped! Crazy...
I wonder how well the US version (Family Feud) has fared considering that launched in 1976.

This is because it was an ATV show though and their archiving record right up to the loss of franchise at the end of 1981 was the worst of any of the major ITV companies (the later, existing, editions would have been produced by Carlton, who archived much more comprehensively). Add to that, several changes of ownership since then have ensured that further bits of the ATV collection were shaved off. It was only when Carlton took control that the collection was properly catalogued / consolidated.

It's because the episodes are missing and there's no signal to see!
