I just found another programme with a odd name looking at microfilms of the times of July & August 1988. Does anyone living in the central TV region remember a strand-type overnight programme shown on Friday nights in the summer of 1988 called 'C'? Anyone has information on this? As Central did not screen LWT's 'night network' at the time this must be their take on the show( music news, videos etc.)

I lived in the Central area during that time and I remember a strand called More Central, which was local news and bits & pieces. Midlands Insomniacs were also treated to the unedifying prospect of seeing in the small hours in the company of Central Jobfinder, which did what it said on the tin.
Unquestionably, the "highlight" of Friday night viewing in the Central area was the infamous Central Weekend, a turbo-charged version of those in-studio debate shows like Kilroy or The Time & The Place, except this one had been to the pub first and had a few.
I almost made it into a show once, being part of a Beatles Appreciation group who were invited to take part by a researcher for a music-based edition, who then neglected to tell the producer, even though transport to and from the studio was laid on for us. As compensation, we got to spend the evening in the green room partaking of free food & booze and the company of such luminaries as Liz Kershaw, Tom Robinson, Noddy & Dave from Slade, Paul Jones, Siouxsie Sioux among others.

'C' was actually a programme, not a strand. As mentioned above, Central's night-time strand was simply called "More". The strap changed between "More Central", "More To Come", "Even More" etc.
I know I have a trailer for 'C' at home on V2000, I'm not sure if an actual edition is on there but it might be. I'll most likely have a butchers at the weekend.

Thanks, Mark. Sadly, did not ring a bell, but seeing the schedule before C brought a smile to my face :-)
