now that WAS a fantastic kids show, with the first appearance of the gorgeous Christine McKenna, later to star in the awful Flambards. Would LOVE to see that again (47A, not Flambards!)

Parkes -
TR16 - a monochrome 16mm telerecording.
ie - a 16mm camera pointed at a TV screen and recording a videotape, or live transmission on black and white film.
Not really a patch on an original broadcast quality videotape, but at least it survives.
BTW - this is from an ancient Kaleidoscope guide and some episodes might have been recovered in their entiriety from the great ATV Quad (broadcast colour VT) transfer programme.

Hi Dubs Thanks for the info I'm a novice at all this stuff. TR16 ?? basically means it was filmed off a TV monitor playing the master recording , thus TR stands for Tele- recording and 16 is the gauge of film that was used to film it. BTW i think the Forest Rangers is still playing somewhere to thi day

Yes , I had a huge crush on her too. I particularly remember falling in love with her when she played Wendy in a TV version of Peter Pan - a while after 47a.

Thanks for all your help, chaps. I suppose my next question has to be................ If these shows all exist , how on earth do we get to see them ? (Novice question !!) if your absolutely desperate , you could probably get a VHS from the company that owns them now, but as a one off it would be costly and rough around the edges compared to a proper release. Granada at the ITN archive owns the majority of your list I would think? www.itnarchive.com/Network Video has established itself as the main player in archive releases so check their site regularly and badger them for new material for release. here.. www.networkdvd.co.uk/

Isn't Forrest Rangers a Southern TV programme?
If so - it isn't Granada owned, but by Southern Star (an Australian company)

Isn't Forrest Rangers a Southern TV programme? If so - it isn't Granada owned, but by Southern Star (an Australian company) Forest Rangers (1963-65) No Guest it was a co-production between Canadian Broadcasting Co and ATV network and guess what distributed by ITC. On its huge success its creator Maxine Samuels got funding from ITC for Seaway.
