That was very interesting. Thank you for posting this. It was such an eye opener into the world of restoration. It's a good thing that you know what you are doing. I wouldn't know what to do with the films if I were in your shoes. Lets hope you shall be doing the same with Marco Polo. Again thanks. It makes you appreciate the hard work you have to do.

Maybe it is just me, but the film that was shown in the doc, it still looked nice and black and crisp, even before the processes started. Obviously stored in excellent conditions out there in Jos. Though as recent news has shown Northern Nigeria where iirc Jos is located is a VERY scary place. Took a hell of a brave guy to go there looking and even most ardent fans would have baulked. Great video Paul.
Glad you removed that bit of me accidentally sneezing on Web 4 while I was cleaning it.

1960's Monochrome Doctor Who means the world to me, as ridiculous as that may sound. But I may have shed a tear or two watching this. Your work does not go unappreciated, that's directed at everyone involved. Here's to more recoveries, but if not, thank you for everything you've done for our community. Regardless we are forever indebted.

Fascinating watch.Oddly, we've all probably rewatched them a hundred times since buying the DVDs, but it was exciting, and a thrill when the footage started on the screen.Excellent work.

Lets hope you shall be doing the same with Marco Polo. I'm waiting for the edited video with a pile of extra film cans appearing in the background of most shots...

I loved the moment that you saw the first scene, it sent a shiver down my spine. I hope that one day more is said about the whole process from discovery to delivery. Thanks.

I could watch a half hour documentary if you have the footage. Thanks for sharing. If it's ok to ask, who are the other people working on it?

Oops, must have forgotten to hit enter earlier...... Thanks for posting this video Paul. It is always nice to have a look behind the scenes at the restoration work. Those were often some of the DVD extras that were of the most interest to me personally. Good work and happy hunting - here's to you chaps getting to restore some more Troughton one day

If it helps just one person in carrying out restoration of a missing episode themselves the video has served its purpose.
(Seriously, please don't try this at home).

Very nice video Paul. I can imagine what was going threw your mind when you hit play for the first time wondering if the images would be viewable or not.
