"I do know of at least one private torrent site that has lots of 'lost' home-taped radio and t.v. programmes that he and the black-hole of Kaleidoscope will never get to access. The folks of that site firmly believe that 'lost' episodes should be in the public domain not mouldering away in some inaccessible archives."
There is a great deal of no-logic in Chris Brady's public remarks. He is also sending me private PM messages to be rude aswell please note moderators.
But this paragraph I quote is the most hysterically illogical I have ever read.
A public domain torrent site that believes in free public access for all - but won't given free public access to Kaleidoscope to return material to copyright holders? I'm not asking the site to close down, nor am I asking them to delete all the content once they give it back to us or the BBC, so where would be the harm in returning material to copyright holders??? Small-minded spiteful attitude Chris Brady. The worst form of hoarding, you are only interested in your own collection.
I've never heard of archive.org before, I have no idea if it is legal or not, I just asked Chris Brady to stop posting about torrent sites being a great place to copy pirate material. I eventually banned him when he posted a link to an ebay auction containing pornography for sale.
Chris claims that Kal is a black hole that never releases anything - yet he joined our Facebook page, congratulated us on what we did (you can still see his post where he praises us on our pages). He only became bitter towards us when we would not give him a copy of The Flower of Gloster, so what he means is that we refuse to trade pirate material and give him pirate copies and that is why he has a chip on his shoulder about us.
This weekend we returned a major Kennedy find to the BFI and arranged for a 16mm print to go to the BBC, we showed five hours of lost material, and we are now giving footage to ITV to use in a new ITV quiz show series. We help all legal comers, but I refuse to put material into the pirate domain for pirates to trade illegally.
Would Chris Brady like Kal to lose its licence and no longer exist? Yes because he believes that if he can't have the footage then no one else can.
This is the last public statement I shall make on the matter. I will answer Brady's illogical and personal abuse no longer. Moderators, over to you......
