Ok, I'm not one who knows much about Dr Who........pretty much nothing, but, Mary Tamm started on Dr Who in 1978. She appeared on Noel Edmonds' Lucky Numbers....this WAS in 1978, not 1977, as is written on youtube and elsewhere on the net....the series wasn't even running then! The Beeb do not appear to have this clip, which I guess must be October 1978 (perhaps one of you guys could date it? ) and Dr Who fans might not appreciate this one millionth of a googol as they would even a millisecond of Marco Polo, but....I think this is a fab 'find' myself, so....yeah. Regards, Ray. THE YOUTUBE REFERENCE FOR THE CLIP IS BELOW!

I'm pretty sure I remember watching this at the time.
If I'm not confusing this with another program, it starts with Noel Edmonds asking his studio audience to guess who the special guest is, giving them lots of Doctor Who clues to which they all end up saying "Leela", and then of course Mary Tamm comes on.

Ray,I think I've 'outed' you here. Are you 'Ray Langstone' in the comments section? Duh.
Gad the work this must have taken.I've only now read this thread; figured it was a question about archive status.Might be an idea to put 'find' in the thread-title?
Nice one!

As for dating it, BTW, if I'm right then I'm pretty sure it happened just after the first episode of Ribos.

Contact with the poster should be made.
Perhaps he has the whole episode and the clip is all he posted.
Also if he has this old tape, perhaps he has other things
Rather than everyone bug the guy, I think we need someone designated the contract or contact team to handle it.
Could paul or Chris or someone Confirm they're on this?
Another thought perhaps is Noel might have kept some tapes of his appearances. I don't know if he had been approached.
Thanks

I gather the poster is a big Dr Who fan, that's pretty obvious from their youtube username.
Pointing out the clip, as I have done here on the Dr Who section of this Forum is to see if the poster will identify themselves first.
If not, I will contact them next week, of course!

Spooky!
What I remember was the studio audience all getting it wrong and then it being slightly awkward when she came on. I mean - they might have guessed everyone was going to say Leela!

What a nice find, this one! Thanks a bunch, Ray! Looking forward to hearing her season on BF with Tom in the near future, but this was very sweet. Trevor Brooks already won, getting to talk to Mary Tamm on the phone - but having her help him win by offering "bottom" defies description!

Contact with the poster should be made. Perhaps he has the whole episode and the clip is all he posted. I'd be surprised. The picture instability at the start of the clip screams out "beginning of recording" to me.
