Probably what came out of Africa (and I am speculating here) is that they recovered a lot of old films made by the TV stations in country that are of no interest to us as fans. Did he find any US made programing as well...? We know TIA distributed kinescopes of Sesame Street. The vast bulk of those film cans were probably locally produced shows / movies.
Well South America is the next step as things to migrate. So search South America , the more places we get some kind of search going in the better chance something will turn up. Who knows perhaps some lost American shows from the 50's will turn. I do know that the American soap opera Dark Shadows (1966-71) bas sold to south America dubbed into Spanish. I have a friend who has some of the kinescopes of that series. SO we might find more lost and forgotten American programs as well.
Keep in mind AFRTS-TV Southern Command Network in Panama which had stations running the length of the canal zone(which is effectively the entire country) including Howard Air force base and Naval Station Rodman as well as a host of smaller US facilities had stations that could be picked up in Costa Rica and re transmitted as well. So I am encouraged by the search of South America.

I suppose the rush is before some cotton on to what their value is !

At its simplest level I have no idea why Phil did this....whats the point? He hasnt added anything at all, not really, to anything he hasnt already said and this is simply something that will fuel the fires even more, so like Shelley, Im of the opinion that he knows exactly what hes doing. We're told that all this endless speculation and rumour-mongering will hamper the return of material etc, and yet he gives an Interview at a very sensitive time, and this mans no fool, that will set us all off again. He doesnt need to do PR for the Web of Fear DVD, its selling itself and thats BBCWW's job anyway, not his.Either hes enjoying watching all us sad buggers tearing ourselves apart, our the crafty sod is up to something, otherwise, the whole thing is totally irrelevant. Agree ! Which leads me to the only conclusion that he wants the omnirumour thing ! Some say otherwise, PAH !!! This keeps the fires burning for when he is ready at his choosing ! Is it not simply more likely that the fine print of PM's agreement with the BBC require him to do some limited press work, in connection with any DVD /ITunes sales of any of his finds?

Just been on to ians twitter page, and ian is in a ding dong with Mrs Morris !!! I kid you not !!! Yeah, but is it genuine? Hopefully it will get deleted soon. Should we give it the carbon dioxide of publicity?

The ranking goes: 3. The Freedom of Information request. 2. This. 1. The day that the forum user called a television station in Africa.

I suppose the rush is before some cotton on to what their value is ! Costa Rica is the source of a reported Jon Pertwee siting of episodes airing in color in the late 1970's. We know the ARAMCO / AFRTS Station aired NTSC Jon Pertwee as well in the 1970's so its possible that the signal in Costa Rica was an overspil of the Southern Command Network feed across the boarder. . .

Having reconsulted with my sources, I've changed my mind about 96 stories having been fully restored/Power of the Daleks having been screened/ there being an announcement at midnight tonight

Oh man, this is just so depressing - really makes me ashamed to be a Dr Who fan.PM will need to have the patience of a saint to stop himself retaliating to the BS going down between his wife and IL.A very sad day indeed.
