Amazing! Gives me hope that something useful might be found if Sandy Irvine's camera (and body!) are ever found on the upper slopes of Mount Everest (both lost since 1924). Also, to ensure the wrath of the mods doesn't descend: The Abominable Snowmen negatives should still be okay in the snows of Tibet...

So cold. And yet so very invulnerable.
(I know that's an oxymoron,but it doesn't work otherwise.Should I have said "Geddit?Geddit?").

The best bit,of course.Though every time I see it I think "someone's been reading Avengers 4!" (the issue with Captain America's return to the 20th century).AA seems to have itself been thoroughly ripped off by 'Funland'... Veering back on topic, interesting that these films were affected by mold, suggesting (?) that they thawed and refroze over time.Even dodgier for survival...

As I mentioned elsewhere (in regards to the DW omni-rumour) . The Australian film tv archives negotiated the return - from Antartica via Tasmania - of a large cache of 16mm films in pristine condition about two years ago. Maybe that unrecoverable Morcambe and Wiss could be moved to either the north or south pole? Till technology is ready to save it? ;-)
