There is something coming on the BBC1 lunchtime news very shortly - perhaps we'll get it at MBW?

Strangely if found in a skip in 1996 and forgotten until now the Peter Sellers Appreciation Society says they screened them in 2004? Quote In May 2004, PSAS held an exclusive screening or Sellers rarest films, "Insomnia Is Good For You" & "Death Of A Salesman"... Unquote www.petersellersappreciationsociety.com/HTML/About.php

Unquote www.petersellersappreciationsociety.com/HTML/About.php Ah.It always happens that way! Mind you.someone was quoted as saying that these were unknown to the BFI... It was said on the TV news-as is suggested in the first post-that these were made on spec with a view to becoming a TV series a la Hancock.

If the BFI were unaware of them it doesn't give much credence to those trying to "read" weird and wonderful things into internal emails....

It's just hype to sell tickets at the Southend Film Festival.
Knowledge of these films existing and being re-shown has been around since 1996.
But why let facts get in the way of a good story! lol

Reading that the chap considered throwing the films away was pretty mortifying; that's one thing I fear hugely. General public awareness of the potential value of old films is low enough for, for example, the children of an elderly possessor of films who has recently passed away to throw them away without realising their importance. But not to be all doom and gloom, because it's great to see these films finally see the light of day (even if their existence has been known about for a while)
