It's very frustrating trying to get updates from the likes of the TV Times ( i.e. this is all they have to say about the Good Evening! show on the 21st October 1967)
And welcome, gentle viewers. My name is Jonathan King. If you want to be groovy, and you want to know why, if you want to be way out in advance, let me be your leader. Pops, films, theatre, books, politics even - it is all here. thanks to me and the stalwart efforts of DESIGNER ROBERT MACGOWAN RESEARCHER MATTHEW ROBINSON PROGRAMME EDITORS BRIGID SEAGRAVE ROBERT OTTAWAY ROBIN RAY DIRECTOR ROBERT FLEMING PRODUCER ANTHONY FIRTH ATV NETWORK PRODUCTION
Why not tell us who was on the show?
Just as well we already know it was Peter Frampton and Andy Bown thanks to the NME. But maybe somebody else was on the show?

Not sure there would have been room for anyone else given there's 2 guests plus JK and JK's ego ...

One Good Evening show in (probably) September or October '67 featured Nirvana (now known as Nirvana UK) playing, or miming to, Pentecost Hotel - an excellent song. I would pay good money to see this particualar clip again. The Beat Club version is terrible, and very badly mimied - a guitar imitating a harp! The song was a big hit in Europe, but no worthwhile video exists. Or does it?

On page 14 of the Disc and Music echo dated the 7th October 1967 Jonathan King stated that "The Herd were on the 'Pilot' week of 'Good Evening' (a rehearsal show never actually transmitted for us to get on our feet)and found them good people surrounded by fine and helpful managers. They had already happened by the first programme, so we could not feature them, but I was extremely impressed by their image, power and ability". But Syd Vliets' great earlier research on this thread states The Herd were on the show on the 25th Nov 1967! what's going on? Also from page 2 of the same 7th October 1967 issue of Disc and Music Echo is this picture of Jonathan King talking to Frank Zappa
