I was just wondering about this earlier today, does anyone know the answer, the latest I could think of was the first episode of the anthology series 'Bedtime Stories' from 1974, but I assume that there must be later things.

This was covered before two or three years back where even I was astonished to learn that the BBC made telerecordings up to 1985. It appears various editions of "Blue Peter" in the early to mid 80's were recorded this way.

There's a Dr Who rushes reel from 1989 that exists as B/W film because something else was being transferred to film, but the wrong VT number was put on the job sheet. Quite what the original item was that was being transferred, I don't know.

IIRC the last Dr Who telerecorded was part 6 of Planet Of The Spiders, though this & Monster Of Peladon didn't find any buyers as telerecordings.
MHP did mention some things as late as 1977 being exported as telerecordings, I wonder what was being exported this late on B&W 16mm.

EDIT: Just seen this on Wiki: "is evidence to suggest that the children's magazine programme Blue Peter was occasionally being telerecorded as late as 1985." Anyone know where this has come from?

The last known Doctor Who telerecording was Invasion of the Dinosaurs #6. Enterprises indicated in their sales literature that they would have made the rest of Season 11 available in 16mm, if it was required, but I assume as their were no takers for it, the decision was taken not to continue, so there are no telerecording records for the final three stories.

Some sources list the last 3 Pertwee serials as being telerecorded, even if they didn't end up being sold in that format. I guess someone made a mistake at one point & a lot have copied the same feature.

It should be buried somewhere in the archives in this very forum. It was about 2 or 3 years ago when there was a discussion about it. "Blue Peter" itself a few years back did a feature involving one such b+w telerecording from 1980 or 1981 which was restored to colour thanks to a home VHS recording. I just remember 1985 being the cut off point. No idea how many exist in this form from the 1980's but there are some!

In a 2004 edition of Blue Peter, there was a feature about the history of television recording and the restoration of an early eighties edition that only existed as a b&w telerecording and an off-air vhs tape I have that 2004 edition on tape, I'll have to dig it out and have a look

Sorry, I meant the latest programme that ONLY survives as a telerecording, as in MIND OF EVIL or ROBIN REDBREAST, no colour copy exists anywhere. The Blue Peter episode from 1985 does also exist on its original tape, I think.

I think most editions of 'Match of the Day' pre c.1976, only exist as telerecordings
The restored Blue Peter was from Dec 1980

As a collector of 70's televised football, I can confirm 99.5% of the footage I've come across from MOTD in the 70's is in colour. The one glaring exception that springs to mind was of an Ipswich v West Ham league match from April 1975.
I have a "Match of the Day" Derby County video which has telerecorded footage of David Coleman introducing a match v Leicester from 1973. This was Derby's first home match after Brian Clough resigned. However, the actual footage of the match is in colour.

The one glaring exception that springs to mind was of an Ipswich v West Ham league match from April 1975. I was at that game : both teams definitely played in colour ... and we (Ipswich) won 4-1, if I recall correctly. In fact, if viewed frame-by-frame, I probably feature in a few shots of throw-ins from the far side : right in the middle standing behind the Duckhams sign!
