As promised (threatened??) : audio from 'lost' performances on ITV (Anglia) shows in the mid-70s. Starting with the song that everyone is (not) waiting for (but is the one in best condition, ironically) : Mechanical Horsetrough - When Santa Lost His Trousers Taken from an ITV tea-time folk programme of December 1975 - anyone able to tell me which one? I've forgotten ... not Fred Wedlock, I don't think, which was shown at lunch-time in the Anglia region. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_Mazkp4E-0

You're sure this isn't an out-take from Dylan's Christmas album?

Presumably "Christmas Folk" Monday 22nd December 1975, 5:20-5:50pm, Anglia only. Could be : though that title doesn't ring any bells. In my memory, I would have placed it about an hour earlier, simply because I'm surprised the British Relay TV repair man would have been working that late! His name was Colin : we got to know him quite well ; when one had BRW that tended to happen! I remember him waiting silently for me to finish recording the song before he started looking at the set! Radio Orwell (the local Ipswich radio station at that time) had been plugging the song for weeks, to no great effect sales wise. I tuned in to the TV show specifically to record it.

Now THAT I suspect is the show that was on Anglia lunchtime / early afternoons. And it should be Pigsty Hill Light Orchestra (not Light Hill) I think : my mate Woodie was a big fan of them.

Here's the last one I've got : the late, great, Clifford T. Ward performing the totally forgotten "Jayne (from Andromeda Spiral)" on 45. It has to be said, not a great live vocal on this one (especially start of Chorus #2!) www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1FTX7EofUE
