Hi,
I just wondered if the 4 Lost TV Episodes box sets were worth getting if (like myself) you had most of the individual CDs already?
The collections make reference to "Bonus material" which as far as I can see are just copies of the shooting scripts (which I'm sure are very interesting, but not necessarily worth paying £30 for!), and they also say "remastered sound". Have these been completely remastered again since the original CD releases (I know The Macra Terror has new narration by Anneke Wills in place of Colin Baker, but I seem to remember even the CD release for that had been remastered since the 1990s version)?
Otherwise the only incentives I have to pick these up are for The Underwater Menace, Reign of Terror, The Crusades, and The Ice Warriors which are the only ones I don't already have. And I'm quite happy only tracking down TUM and The Crusades as the animated missing episodes on the DVD for the other 2 are all I really need.
Thanks for any comments / advice!

Definitely track down Macra. I don't know about bonus material, but Macra is a world better.

I believe they're worth getting.
I have collections 1, 2 and 4 so far, as I didn't have the funding to spend over £50 on the 3rd one.
It's nice to hear interviews from the people involved with the stories. Lots of nice insight to the making of the serials.
Some of the sets also have features which include trailers for other stories, as well as other additional features. So yeah, there's plenty to get your money's worth out of it.

I don't have any of them yet as I'm spending most of my money on the DVDs of the existing episodes! Could anyone tell me what special features are on the Mission To The Unknown CD?

I enjoy them. Pretty much listened to all the Hartnells. They are good for long train rides.

And I'm quite happy only tracking down TUM and The Crusades as the animated missing episodes on the DVD for the other 2 are all I really need. Thanks for any comments / advice! There are 5 boxsets. Currently AudioGo are doing £5 off a £20 spend over the Easter weekend so it is worth getting Collection 2 from AudioGo, especially as no-one else is stocking it. The £5 off means it is £30 which isn't too bad really. Currently on Amazon, collections 1 and 4 are £28 and collection 3 is £30. The £5 discount means collection 3 is also £30 from AudioGo. Collection 5 is currently £34.40 from Amazon or £35 from AudioGo inclusive of the £5 discount. I have happily paid money for 3 of the sets and got the download of collection 5 when it was on the AudioGo website for £10. But after I complained about a lack of pdf scripts which were clearly advertised, the download option suddenly disappeared so sorry about that! I have only listened to collection 3 as I wanted the Troughton ones, but have been impressed with the audio quality - Mark Ayres has done an amazing job and the linking narration on the whole is unintrusive and completes the audio experience. If you're toying with the idea of getting them, don't hesitate any longer. I was thinking of getting one for about 6 months and then gave in. I have got 2 of them on CD with one coming in the post (and the one on download), meaning I'm only missing collection 1. Can't really justify getting it right now, am hoping Amazon's price stays at £28 for a while! The Highlanders is a superb story and the audio seems to really impress the fact upon the listener. I personally find some of the recons a chore, like MarcoPolo but I think the audio will be good (when I get it!). Most of the missing episodes are genuine classics and I'm looking forward to going through the Troughtons then the Hartnells.

You really must hear some of the audio readings of the Target novelizations.Although obviously the TV soundtracks are the sound of the missing episodes, they don't come close to the sheer entertainment value of the Target readings. At the moment I'm listening to the MP3 CD of Dr Who and the Daleks as read by William Russell of the David Whittacker novel and I must tell you it is absolutely fantastic-totally absorbing.I know this isn't a missing story but it is wonderfully evocative and fascinating. Also try to listen to THE DOOMSDAY WEAPON ( the novelization of Colony in Space ) as read by Geoffrey Beavers-really fantastic as well.

I'm glad you enjoy the Target readings Jaz. I on the other hand don't like readings, generally find them dull, I much prefer the full cast audio stuff which is why the TV soundtracks work really well for me.

Simeon, looking at the Daleks Master Plan audio release the Mission to the Unknown is on CD 1 as a single episode. It is a multisession enhanced disc with a bonus data-file readable on Mac and PC computers. So,it will play as a normal disc on a CD player and data disc on a CD-ROM drive.Hope this helps. This function is not available for any of the other discs in this release and is not listed. The CDs in the 5 CD package are named as MTTU on CD 1 and TDMP on the other 4 discs ( but as full titles, not abbreviations as I have done! ).

Is this for the release in the boxset or from the different Daleks' Master Plan release?
As well as the PDF scripts some discs had extra audio features (and possibly PDFs?) but I don't know what's on each disc until I buy it. If you have the boxset releases Jaspal could you list which special features are on each disc?

Sorry Simeon,I bought them all when they were originally released so I won't be buying the box-sets.However,just but them and enjoy them for what they are,the extra features will be minimal and not worth worrying about in my opinion. The soundtrack is the main thing and jolly wonderful they are too-the Wheel is Space,The faceless Ones,Fury from the Deep,I could go on and on.You will enjoy them for many years to come!By the way,TDMP and Marco Polo are exceptional Hartnells.

Anybody find a good price for Collection 4 (it is the only one I need to find a good price for!) instead of 250 GBP / 350 USD? I have Collection 3 on the way and found great deals for 1, 2 and 5. but not 4. The lowest price I found was 250 GBP / 350 USD on Amazon UK. On Amazon US, it's 1800 USD!!! I'd like to see if anyone knows a good deal? Like 80-120 USD?
