I came across this article in the NME week ending March 25th 1967 has anyone heard of this proposed movie before? if so was it ever made? I have my doubts so I'll do a search within other NME's for 1967 thanks all William

I've just found another article in the NME week ending 13th May 1967 it states that the film has been postponed until the Autumn because of the MOVE's other commitments
I then checked the rest of 1967 for any other updates (but found nothing) so it's unlikely that it was made (shame)
I'll let you know the answer from the e-mail I sent to the MOVE website
cheers William

I think it's safe to say this movie was never made or else we'd had heard about it by now. I don't think they got any further than making their own colour promo film for "Flowers In The Rain" which they sold 8mm copies to their fan club members.
Given how manager Tony Secunda worked, it was probably nothing more than a publicity gimmick since there was endless speculation about the Rolling Stones making a movie, The Beatles making another movie... seemed every other band were rumoured to have movies in the pipeline, but very few of them actually reached fruition.
I'm sure Bev Bevan would had remembered such a project... he did recall a disastrous movie project ELO with Roy Wood got involved with that he, Wood and Jeff Lynne would rather forget existed!

It didn't end there. They were due to make the movie Freedom Road in 1971 with Roy Wood in the lead role.

thanks jgreen and tony,
I understand that the previous proposed film in 1967 was obviously never made, so the main thread had reached a (dead-end) so to speak, but do you have any info re the proposed film (Freedom Road)?
cheers William
