Nine missing episodes of Doctor Who have been tracked down to Thailand Researcher Damian Finucane claims to have traced nine early episodes to Thailand, including the seven-part Journey To Cathay serial in which the time-travelling Doctor joined Marco Polo on the Silk Route. The "9 episodes" sounds like a references to Season 1. Marco Polo plus Reign of Terror. The article was 2008, and had there been any validity we would've seen it by now.
I think the researcher simply figured out that they were purchased by Thailand at some point and never bicycled. It ends with him making monetary offers and contacting the stations to no avail. It doesn't sound like there was any real "lead" here.

Yep this is an old one. Thailand has always been held up as a possibility as it appears they had missing episodes that weren't bicycled on. Nothing has ever come to light though, coupled with the fact that the station that screened them has since closed down, making it even harder to ascertain what happened.

what happend to this story ? Nothing happened, because it simply wasn't a "story" or anything like it. ;D Saying that some episodes of Doctor Who were broadcast on an overseas channel 41 years before is hardly news of any sort.
