Er...I know I'm getting boring...but why show a photo from Power of the Daleks....?From previous rumours is it possible that something's been found or is the picture just a coincidence?

Let's hope it's in the magazine and not just confined to the website.

Cmon people don't give up there has to be some footage out there. Like for example when some people found some Behind the scene footage from James Bond. Just in time for his 50 Anniversary. And the Top of The Pops clips that have just been found. This information is from the Wiped Website. So don't give up there always hope!

Strange that the number 1 holy grail of lost Dr Who episodes has moved from 10th Planet episode 4 to Power of the Daleks episode 1.When did that sea-change happen?Yes I know I'm seeing conspiracies when there are none, but here's hoping for a fantastic 50th Anniversary...!

Yea the most sough out episode should be The Tenth Planet Episode 4 and the Power Part 1. Should be the second.

I think it's a back and forth between the episodes now that animation is possible. Tenth Planet can be animated and Power of the Daleks can not. I think that Power of the Daleks 1 being the most sought after episode would be true if Tenth Planet 4 were to be found anyway.

The article is a good advertisement. I think they are using a picture from Power of the Daleks because they are still one of the biggest recognizable icons from the program.
I know it is tempting to look for potential clues in the article, but coming to the wrong conclusions will only leave people disappointed.

Im very thankful that the search has gotten this very valuable publicity. Hopefully someone says.."I remember my neighbor having those old cans of 16mm film".
I agree that Tenth Planet 4 and Power of the Daleks 1 are two of the most sought after episodes. Which is most popular however is a preference issue. The advantages of preferring TP4 is that it completes the last Hartnell story which is the first Cyberman story and contains the first regeneration.
The advantages of preferring Power 1 is that it is the first appearance of Troughton, the post regeneration episode, no episodes of this story exist, and it is a classic story.
Since only one of the Troughton Dalek episodes survive, and it is definately a classic, im leaning toward preferring Power 1 as my more sought after desire since the full regeneration of tp4 exists.

George: Well technically TP4 is Troughton's first appearance, he just wasn't credited. But it certainly is a toss up between those two episodes. I don't know what other people would think, but I would put in next place The Dalek's Masterplan 4 and The Dalek's Masterplan 12. The first "companion deaths" that changed the atmosphere of the show. Personally I have a desire to see The Massacre 4 for Hartnell's monologue and Marco Polo 3 for Ping-Cho's story. Radio Times is wonderful for doing this. I'm hoping this repeats in other places. I could certainly see places like io9 making a post but I'd hope for more mainstream news organizations with a better "older demographic".

Strange that the number 1 holy grail of lost Dr Who episodes has moved from 10th Planet episode 4 to Power of the Daleks episode 1.When did that sea-change happen? I always thought TP4 was a BBC dream forced upon fans and POTD1 was what fans actually wanted! LOL
