I wonder if Mother Theresa or Sister Wendy ever presented the show? Most appropriate DJs if so! The Singing Nun must be in there somewhere. ;D

Thank goodness sense has prevailed. I'm pleasantly surprised they're pressing on with 1978 though of course the big question now is, will they be showing the DLT editions or are they waiting to see what happens in January when his charges are dealt with? How many editions did he host in 1978? We know JS hosted something like 6 shows and I'd imagine DLT hosted more with Peter Powell and Kid Jensen becoming ever more prominent.

DLT presented 8 programmes in 1978, the first of which was 19-1-78.

It seems the BBC are standing their ground on what appears to be turning into a farce with the parade of OAPs that have been interviewed under caution in recent weeks. I'd like to know what the justice system makes of this apparent collusion between the press & the police in naming those with allegations against them.

Does anyone know why the letters page in next week's Radio Times quotes Richard Klein as say no decision has yet been made? It certainly casts a doubt that a 1978 documentary could be made in time.

Also Xmas RT page 231 article states "All credit to BBC4 for renewing its commitment to screen TOTP from 35 years ago, despite the Savile controversy....." so it looks good for more from 1978. Though that could refer to the Big Hits show on the 4th.

I thought the 1978 documentary made a major point of recapturing the brand on behalf of the musicians who performed on the show.

The 5th Jan 1978 episode is now listed on the BBC Four schedule for next Thursday (17th) at 7.30pm. No late night repeat, unless it is to be shown later in the week.
