The BBFC listing is for Series 4. Series 5 is complete with no cock-ups - they are just following the London broadcasting order for some reason.
Using that transmission order, Series 5 runs for four episodes. It is then followed by a 22-episode Series 6.

Hi,Ken. Yep,I finally caught that about the season 4 listing.Sorry for getting it wrong.4 and 5 really are getting released close together. London broadcasting order,eh? Typical metropolitan,centrist,London-obsessed... Does this mean that there's hope that more (all?) episodes survive? John. Added: I see what you mean! ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/series/27757 I'll keep my fingers crossed, then.

If these episodes are being released as season 5: www.tv.com/shows/sergeant-cork/episodes/ they include three; Hooded Students/Simple Savages/Painted Boat-that seem to be listed as missing. Added: For some reason the link takes us to the listings for series 6.There's a sidebar to go to series 5,luckily. The four episodes for series 5 are given as: 'The Case of the Hooded Students'.(1/10/1966). 'TCOT Simple Savages' (3/9/1966). 'TCOT Painted Boat' (30/7/1966) and 'The Case of Albert Walker' (known).

I checked the one that exists in Canada. They were very efficient. Got someone to actually watch the film! It isn't missing though.

London broadcasting order,eh? Typical metropolitan,centrist,London-obsessed... Well, the series was made by ATV, who had a London franchise at the time (and it was made in that region), so it makes sense really.

Well...I suppose...(Grump.Moan).
Really pleased that they exist!
p.s.I can see why a few people have suggested that series 4 and 5 might reasonably have been issued together.

Hurrah! Can we check the track listing please? Need to ascertain if they do have the missing shows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
