At last nights Olympic Closing ceremony, there was a rather clying rendition of Imagine accompanied by a video. it was the normal "White room and piano@ video, but we were informed that Yoko had "remastered" the footage for the occasion. but more of interest was that it held the same shot for the whole performance, the close up face fills screen one. Anyone ever seen this before or know if there are other versions of this piece of film. Maybe the remastering will lead to a blu ray release of Lennon Legend. HA!

According to this site : www.beatlesondvd.com/19701974/19710722_jl.htmit appears that there might be additional footage sitting in the archive. It was known that Lennon was a bit of a archive freak and would keep everything he could get his hands on.

There is an awful lot of John Lennon footage sitting in the Lenono archive, trust me!

Are we assuming the cupboard is bare, in the Lennon archive, for all things Beatles related?

Judging by the Olympic closing ceremony, it certainly looks like the rushes (or some of them) from the 'Imagine' video shoot exist. The close-up of lennons face showed much more footage than is seen in the standard promo. I'm more curious to find out if Yoko has the complete Top Of The Pops (5th March 1970) which the alternate version of 'Instant karma' survives from?

Very good thread over on the Steve Hoffman forums about this. Personally I think the reason Yoko doesn't want the DF tapes getting out is the state of Lennon in them if the audio tapes & photos are anything to go by.

I read the story how John threw the tape in the bath to destroy it but I had to trawl through 26 pages to get there. An intersting read for anyone who has the time and patience to go through it all though...
