I'd pat myself on the back for not coming online and saying,"Look at this! Wow!",and thus forcing the price up.As I've been known to do in the past.Mind you,I didn't know this was listed. The advice is to personal message Christopher Perry,I believe,if you spot something? I'm hoping we'll hear that "we were aware of this, and the item is secure."Mind you, what a price for an episode that isn't on many people's must have lists.

You may think I would have alerted certain people to this, but I can't possibly comment!

eBay is great to look for possibly missing stuff. I'd spotted this a while back, and, yes, yes, let people know about it. It's often best to let people know about it PRIVATELY (which is what I did here), and I let people who can potentially purchase it know about it. Anything you see on eBay or any auction sites, let me know - it's not so I can buy it - I can barely afford to eat most days - it's so I can let people who preserve copy and transfer things know about it. I want this things saved and not sitting in someone's collection, preferably. This has, ocassionally, been successful. Much recovery - and discovery work - is teamwork these days.

It was Alan Riley who let me know about this on 25th June at 10.12pm. And I couldn't for the life of me remember who had let me know about this, Alan. Having been in hospital since - yes, excuses, excuses - and getting a bit burnt out and weary before then even, that's why I mentioned the word 'teamwork' in the last post so prominently, while I was thinking 'damn, who told me about that? Was it on here, or on one of my email accounts, or on Facebook....or on one of the two accounts, or the ""Fan Page"" (not my idea)....or either of the 'missing episodes' Groups on there, or by text, or the Moz Club, or the phone....'....you get the picture. I am very pleased to credit Alan Riley with letting me know about this, and apologies for the oversight Alan! All rectified now I hope, and thank you again!

Nice to know this survives. Alfie Bass always seemed to play the same sort of character/personality(Think Bootsy in 'The Army Game' and 'Bootsy and Snudge').I've been watching him in the film 'Make Me an Offer' with Peter Finch as a proto-Lovejoy.Alfie has a cameo as a feller who boils down picture-frames to retrieve the gilt. Another film I saw on TV 40-odd years ago,and never again until I got the DVD.

I think it was a wise idea for people to not list this on the site until afterwards.
While im hoping that the winner was one of us, what im also curious about is if the two top bidders were from our group competing against each other.
Perhaps there is a way that missing episode friends can pool their efforts to get shows returned privately.
I think it was a great move not being mentioned. This may already be in place but it would be great if the half dozen bidders in the group could discuss these things privately so efforts aren't competing.

In fact...it would perhaps also be best for us to say nothing about scarcity/value until the objects of desire are posted off by the sellers, and received. "One never knows,do one?" as Fats Waller said.
(This isn't implying or suggesting anything in this particular case; a general precaution.)
