Please all, forgive my ignorance but I wonder if anyone can put me out of my misery.
Some listings of shows on the site which survive on inferior formats have little annotations as to the format/quality.
Can someone tell me what
Holding=NT, Source=NT
stands for.
Sure to be obvious and prepared for an embarrassed red face, but please go right ahead and inflict it on me cos it is annoying me !! ;D

There's always the National Theatre...
Could you give us some examples?

All our codes appear in the book versions so anyone who has a guide of ours from approx 1995 onwards will have a list of codes to check against.
NT refers to an NTSC copy.
I agree it can be confusing if you don't know the codes but the db has to find someway of being specific on holdings when space is at a premium.

Thanks for that Chris. Most of the annotations are straight forward but that one stumped me. Thanks.
The reason I particularly asked was that the Canadian Library & Archives has a "complete" run of the Jo Stafford Show on 16mm telerecordings and I wanted to judge if this was a better format than that known to exist (or indeed would be of interest to help restore whatever format exists).
I say "complete" reservedly because they actually list 9 episodes rather than 10....but I would be surprised if all 10 weren't in there.
The listed episodes on 16mm prints are (by guest star as Canadian broadcast dates differ from UK ones)
- Benny Hill, Peter Lawford, Kenneth Connor - Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, Patricia Hayes, Graham Stark - Morcambe & Wise, Stanley Holloway, Robert Morley (Palladium show) - Bob Hope, James Darren - Harry Secombe (Xmas show) - Peggy Lee, Roy Castle - Ella Fitzgerald, Claire Bloom - Rosemary Clooney, Mel Torme - an unidentified episode Canadian airdate 29/11/62 which will either be - "Transportation" with Roy Castle, Kenneth More, or - The Four Seasons
leaving the other of these two unlisted. However they may be of little improvement/interest on the current known holdings.
