Wonderful stuff,Nigel. I suspect confusion was caused because there was a series called 'Eureka' in the 80s.

So what is this Yak thing? I can't find anything about it. A sweet little kids animation programme in the style of - say Noggin the Nog about a clever and personable 'yak' (which I think is a sort of goat from Aghanistan?) who wanders into adventures. Don't think it was ever repeated? so not remembered much now.

I think I must be missing something. The Database says two series ,July-Oct.'71,and June and July '75.So were they actually repeated in '75? The site gives July '75 as the tx date of 'A Night at the Ballet',but '71 for the rest.
Books were released, but neither of the ones I've looked at seem to be based on TV stories.
Added later: Ooops.'A Night at the the Ballet',1975,"Vulture takes Yak to the Ballet" doesn't seemed to be listed anywhere but the BFI.

On Lost Shows and in the Kaleidoscope Books, the following editions of Swap Shop are supposed to be either incomplete or Reel 1 only as for their archive status.
However, these editions are indicated as held at the BFI and appear to be complete. The first one is wrongly entered on their database as Multi Coloured Swap Shop whereas the others are listed as Swap Shop.
The editions are: 10/10/81, 9/1/82 and 13/3/82.
They also hold a programme called "Swap Shop's Summer Stocktaking - 1981" ( this is not listed on Lost Shows or in the Kaleidoscope Guides so I can't say if it is missing or not.) It says it is an edition where Noel Edmunds looks back at his favourite bits and it runs for 50 minutes.
They also hold an edition of "Swap Shop Star Awards 1981" which is also not listed in the Kaleidoscope Guides ( whereas other years are ) and is not on Lost Shows either, so again I can't say if it exists or not.

This is interesting,
I don't know if it is missing stuff or not but the BFI hold some "Grove Family" test sequences for the soap opera from 1955.

'Another Evening With Burt Bacharach' is listed.Lostshows has the only known recording as an-NTSC conversion, with the original colour 1-inch missing.Might be worth checking.

They list a 90-minute 'Zigger Zagger' from 1976.On Lostshows the series is given as "Zigger Zagger 1975-76",but each of the four episodes seems to be from '75.The BFI database list three of the four episodes-the three missing ones-so it doesn't seem to be another case of "list everything, even if we haven't got it."Surely episode 2 must turn up? Brilliant stuff,Nigel. The BFI had a celebration of Peter Terson's work a few months ago. Added later: The Database calls it "a three-part presentation",but Lostshows says that three of the four episodes are missing. www.focalint.org/assets/files/2012_04_bfi_peter_terson.pdf

There are lots of episodes of 'The Geordie Scene' listed, under that title and e.g.'The Glitter Band'.Lostshows lists only 4 of which one was missing, but it's at the BFI 'Lindisfarne/Bullfrog' 21/9/1974 (missing).(I hope this is news). Are any of the other listed ones missing, does anyone know? Just discovered that there was a short thread here on the subject in 2007,and a guest said that they he'd been in touch with Tyne Tees and had been told that they were all safe in the archive. These are the ones at the BFI Database: ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/series/20945 but I haven't cross-checked them on the listings.
