The Wednesday Play looks promising indeed.
I'll do further checks on this and the Strykers (need to ascertain wthere they are exactly the same shows - tx dates are way off - but I think the Wednesday Play one could indeed be a find.

Keep us informed of progress on this one! Something prestige like a missing Wednesday Play would probably interest the BBC too. A good find if it turns out they have the edition.

Very good news! Do the BBC or BFI / Dick Fiddy know about this one, Ray? I think they'd be interested.

I see! Just like the 1973 TOTP edition they were found to have recently. Methinks a proper trawl of the BFI archive would uncover other "missing" material.

Yes. The other thing i'm thinking is that recently on the forum somebody (apologies I can't remember who you were!) posted here a link to a person claiming that he definitely watched on BFI premises a viewing copy of Menace: Boys And Girls Come Out To Play, which the BFI claim not to have. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that they do.
Worth looking into properly, I reckon.

It was me, and no offence taken Laurence! It wasn't anyone on this forum claiming they'd seen it though, it was on a folky music festival website. There was some screening at a festival of bbc plays like Pendas Fen and Robin Redbreast, and someone was saying that they should show 'Boys and Girls' saying that they'd seen it at the bfi, I made an account on this website to ask them, though they've only replied that they'd seen it at the bfi after I told them it was officially non-existant, the conversation is here www.greenman.net/forum/ghost-box-belbury-poly-spoiler#comment-form . I hope the bfi have this wednesday play!

I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that they do. Well, their computer system seems convinced that it's in the NFTVA: beta.bfi.org.uk/search/site/Boys%20and%20Girls%20Come%20out%20to%20Play
