Sorry to bring this programme up again.
I know Wikipedia is the number 1 factually correct source if information on the net (btw I'm being sarcastic).
However there is an amendment to the Michael Rodd part of the article which states it exists on a domestic format but not yet returned to the Bbc.
Can anyone shed light on this, there are also references to the butler dressed as a French onion seller who is quite specific (this has triggered something in my brain which I seem to recall from original broadcast.
Any info will be greatly appreciated and I am still wondering why this gem of a show has not yet been released !
Still cannot believe these are missing though - madness !
Thanks Ian Ferrier

Btw was thinking about creating a website initially for trying to recover these episodes as I work for a domain hosting company and have access to free domains and web space.
I know it's been done before but may be worth a try (nothing to lose really).
Anyone else think its worth it ?

Worth a try certainly.

Yes, it never hurts to try and get the word out there. You never know who might chance across your page.

A gentleman named Constellationscorpio on Gallifrey Base just posted the following in the Missing Episodes thread: Not releated to ''Doctor Who''. but a friend of mine has an edition of ''The Adventure Game'' from 1980 which no longer exists in the BBC archive. He has absolutely no intention of returning it to the Beeb either.
No great shakes really as I can't imagine TAG ever being repeated or released commercially, but it is perhaps (a little) pertinent to the discussion. Of course, something like TAG (Txed in 1980 and available to people with recorders everywhere) is, perhaps a bit different to 1960s 'DW'....but it's the principle....perhaps! He has tried to persuade his friend to return it to no avail. Depressing really, that in 2013, missing programmes are still being hoarded. I especially want to see a complete run of The Adventure Game back in the archives.

We really must institute something like the Blue Peter badge to recognise people who've chosen to share. Seriously,an online Roll of Honour wouldn't be a bad thing.Or is there one already?

Ugh. The hoarder referred to here seems like the sort of person who thinks he's "anti-establishment" because he once owned a Stranglers album - all too common in archive TV / anorak circles, of course.

Its the 'a friend of mine' bit that makes think of cave-trolls and similar beasts. Who knows.

Indeed. ukgameshows.com lists 31.05.80 - Liza Goddard, Michael Rodd, Stephen Cox 07.06.80 - James Burke, Maggie Philbin, Pat Cater So on that BFI page, either the cast list is wrong and they have an existing episode, or the original transmission date is wrong and they have a missing episode. Can someone in the know check with the BFI? Not sure of the correct process here.

I did think one of the missing show had David Yip as a guest, or has that been found?

I did think one of the missing show had David Yip as a guest, or has that been found? It exists but in poor quality. Presumably an iffy off-air recording.
