Without meaning to sound sarcastic, what do you think? Unless some miraculous recovery has gone on that none of us have been informed about (and I highly doubt that), I think we can almost certainly say that there are no missing episdoes in Gibriltar, and none have come back from there recently (though I beg for someone in a position to say so to correct me ). As for other prints, I'd think that we'd probably have heard if even any existing episodes were recently found, but again, I'm open to being corrected. As far as I am aware pretty much all of the countries that bought Doctor Who have been checked and triple checked, and if there are a few that haven't then I'd bet my left boot (random, I know LOL) that the experts are doing their upmost to ensure so.

I think it's understood that there WILL be periods (hopefully) when episodes are known to exist, but circumstances dictate that that not be made generally known for a time.Certainly, that happened for a matter of a few weeks last year.

I don't mean to sound rude but what makes you so 'sure' Simon. There was a seven year gap between the last two recoveries so it is highly unlikely one will be found in the next two year (note 'highly unlikely' not 'impossible'). There is a possibility that some might be recovered but there may be nothing left to find...

Technically, only a three-week gap between the last two recoveries.

Unless you have in your hands a missing episode that you are about to return. Will people on this forum please start understanding the difference between "knowing" and "hoping", because frankly, it's getting on my tits.

I thought I read an article in a different forum that stated paul was sure that there would be more recoveries.

Whilst I agree with you about Simon's "sureness", the frequency of past recoveries has no bearing whatsoever on the frequency of any future recoveries. You could potentially go for ten years with nothing turning up, then find an episode a week for the next month at car boot sales. Equally, having found two in the same year, we may be waiting a decade for the next one, or it may be six months. See my lecture on algebra in the Keep the Faith thread.

You can be SURE 100% that something will happen, HOPE 100% that it will happen, but never KNOW 100% that it will happen until it does happen. For instance, I am 100% SURE I will still be alive tomorrow; I HOPE 100% that I will be; but I don't KNOW 100% that I will be.
