Back to missing episodes...I can remember Hartnell attached to Jano's machine and his life force being drained. From Power/Daleks the production line sequence. From Evil/Daleks the Daleks gliding along the landings of the house, Troughton riding the humanised Dalek...now that was a great Episode ending! The Dalek battle at the end of the story..the Dalek tops flying off....just brilliant...when your 4 or 5 years old...it was great to re enact with your Rolykin Daleks! From Ace of Wands I remember Tarot with the giant chess pieces from the Eye of Ra, and one of the chalk statues being smashed which one of the characters had supposedly been turned into. Great stuff!

Yes this was a cracking show, I do wish some Judy Loes existed? especially in the skimpy character clothes for some of the stories LOL. On rewatching the existing eps I was expecting to be disappointed after all these years....I was not . Just an example IMHO Peacock Pie is wonderful, quirky and imaginative (The Matrix in 1972 eh?) and Brian Wilde as Mr Peacock is superb. Its hard to believe this was aimed at 10-14 year olds.

Was trying to find episodes from the early seventies that I could comment on , but amazingly they all exist! Me and my Genie, Freddy 'parrot face' davis' Mr Tweet series, Romany Jones, The rivals of Sherlock Holmes, they are all there.
So it's Pipkins, TOTP and Tiswas. Living in the Midlands I watched this from quite early on, way before Swap Shop began. I remember the dancing footballers, the Derby County supporting sports guy, and Chris Tarrant and the other fella pulling kids up by their ears to tell a joke then shouting 'geroff' and pushing them back down again. I thought that was hilarious. I particularly remember watching Tiswas with Sally James promising that Tom Baker was on his way to the studio. I thought it was strange that he was appearing on an ITV programme, but it may have been to do with his Book Tower series? Anyway, he never showed up.

Plus the stuff that was on in the house that I wasn't particularly watching, I definitely remember "Z Cars" and "Dixon of Dock Green" in the early 70s.

I've been playing the audio episodes lately, and it's amusing that if I pop into the kitchen to make a cup of tea,it's just as though the Hartnells and Troughtons are still on the telly, with vision too,as they were when I was a kid.We didn't always pay absolute attention then, remember, with comics to read and the coal to get in.If we'd known what we do now,our eyes wouldn't have strayed. Those episodes are lost but sometimes to quote the Queen's favourite poem,it's as though they're just in another room.

I doubt too many people would have seen many missing Swap Shop AND Tiswas unless they had a VCR as they clashed, mostly Swap Shop here but the occasional Tiswas. I have equal memories of both shows as I used to keep changing channels back and forth quite frequently skipping the bits I found less interesting. I must have been very attentive because when the 3 Tiswas VHS tapes were released in the 90's I remembered seeing every single clip in some detail.

I just wanted to mention The Gnomes of Dulwich.Imagine a satire on the international money markets, done in the style of Bill and Ben.
At least I think that's what it was.I was very puzzled by this one, much as I'd liked Hugh and I.Terry Scott and Hugh Lloyd were very popular at the time.
