Does anyone know the story of the survival/recovery of the episodes from the b&w series of the Likely Lads. I watched a few shown on telly a number of years ago, and quite enjoy them. It's quite sad that of 20 episodes only 8 survive.
Cheers, Andy

Is there any news on this?
I would love to see some more of these early episodes.

Does anyone know the story of the survival/recovery of the episodes from the b&w series of the Likely Lads. A friend of mine and founding member of Kaleidoscope, Richard Down discovered the first episode 'Entente Cordiale' way back in around 1983/4. He was chuffed to bits although he was actually looking for 'Doctor Who'! Paul

Makes me wonder how many other lost shows were found while looking for lost Doctor Who episodes! ...and how much was missed by some DW fans who took no interest in any other shows...!

Mention on Roobarb in the last week or so that two missing episodes may be in the hands of a private individual. I think the post refers to a previous discussion on this site?

However, the films are now being looked after properly. I hope to be able to say more about this shortly! Regards, Paul

I believe he acquired it from Pinedene Films in Southampton. I used to get film lists from them from 1986 onwards. He was on the track of the 'Wheel in Space' film that David Stead managed to secure just a few months earlier. Paul
