You mean you want to see the off air colour versions from the USA transmission with the rainbow patterning..?

Not everything is available for us to watch online, unfortunately. Or fortunately, depending on how you look at it. I'm not sure about these as I don't have the expertise, but it's unlikely that the full, unabridged versions are available for everyone to view. It's like loads of the Z-Cars episodes held by the BBC - they've never been commercially released. We know that they exist, but you'd probably have to put in a special request or be involved in their restoration (not that I am aware that any such restoration is going on - it'd probably be too expensive) to view them. I know that back in the 70s you could visit the BBC Film & Videotape Library to view (at least some of) what they held, as Ian Levine did many times with Doctor Who episodes. Can you still do that now with its modern equivalent? All that said, I'm probably wrong LOL But to my knowledge, I don't think that you can watch the unabridged Betamax versions of The Ambassadors of Death online.

Simon, why do you want to see the whole story - to be honest, it's a struggle to sit through, as the patterning is very distracting. I used to have a copy, and found myself turning the colour down on a number of occasions.
I think there's a clip on one of the discs, IIRC, and really, once you've seen a clip of it, you're really no worse off watching the BBC Video version - in fact, as the underlying quality is so much better, you're doing yourself a favour!

I have seen the first ten minuites in colour of each episode on youtube and the colour does go up and down but it is nice to see it in colour to see what the costumes were like etc. If some one could show me where to find the full episodes that will be alot of help!

But that's the point - get the BBC Video! Most of the useable colour from the Betamax recordings was on the BBCV!

I have seen Episode 4 of this story in it's entirety on YouTube in colour, It had an ident from some American TV station and the quality was absolutely terrible!! Subsequently I have not been able to find it again. There may be a reason for that, I'm not sure I even had a look through my "history" on YouTube for a link for this thread. It would only be any good for curiosities sake anyway I ended up with sore eyes watching it!! I have the Video release and I'm inclined to agree with what everybody else here has said

I'm assuming that Simon wants to see every second of genuine colour, which I can understand, but really, the quality is rubbish, and the rainbow bits are genuinely worse than watching in black and white.

I am in full agreeance here with you Rob. Likewise, can understand wanting to see every single iota of colour material out there for Ambassadors Of Death. I have seen the material in question here as well, and can fully attest to that statement in regards. Am sure that when the eventual release of this story on DVD is undertaken, this will more than likely be utilized in some shape or fashion.
Cheers, Lance.

No, afraid not part 1 exists in full colour but the rest apart from episode 5 partly exist in colour or not at all. A youtube user call radiotimes1966 uploaded the first 10 minuites of each episode to youtube. The qualtiy isn't to good but still watchable. I am trying to find full colour episodes of betamax recording for episodes 2,3,4,6 and 7. Thanks

I believe this serial has already been recolourised thanks to the Colour Recovery technique used on Planet of the Daleks 3, however there are continuing issues which are preventing a DVD so I don't know how good it looks.
