Just a quick comment. I have messaged - (Facebook!). couldn't find an email - a gent at the CBC in Barbados in the last few minutes. I'll see if he replies and see what the archives have, if anything, as regards Dr Who.

Wouldn't this be better dealt with through official channels..?

As far as I'm aware, both have been thoroughly checked in the past.

Any suggestions on any countries to contact outside the EU, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, let me know.... The thing is, when Paul Vanezis on this very board is doing this at the moment through official BBC channels, I can't quite see the point of others getting involved independantly.

This brings me back to a point I've made, I think, several times. We need a central repository of what's been checked. A very basic, text only, website would suffice. We get quite a few people asking "Have you checked Timbukthree ?" which requires those who have to reply. A simple listing, by country, identifying the archives that have been checked would save a lot of unnecessary effort.

Good idea but, chances are, we'll still get people thinking "Oh, but have they really checked them properly...?"

This brings me back to a point I've made, I think, several times. We need a central repository of what's been checked. But if the effort is being put in to by the BBC check the archives in the various countries that bought the episodes, then surely such a list is redundant and it would only end up focusing more potential fan attention on those stations - with the subsequent demands that television archives seem to find so irritating. Isn't it better just to trust that Paul and those working with him in the task are doing the job thoroughly. I'm sure in time, we'll all know the details.
