I was recently given a UPI publicity press photo of a shot from The Moonbase "streets of Ealing" session. This particular shot shows seven Cybermen standing at a bus stop.
The text on the back is headed : " PLA I543706 RO - THE CYBERMEN HIT LONDON (FIRST OF FIVE)" and reads :" THESE SEVEN MEN-THINGS OR MOON MONSTERS ARE THE CYBERMEN, THE LATEST ENEMY OF THE BBC'S SPACE EXPLORER, DR. WHO."
Underneath the text is :" CREDIT (UPI PHOTO) and the date "2/25/67".
The still bears a stamp from UPI New York.
If Dr Who wasn't sold to the USA in the 1960s then why would this set of stills have been made? Any ideas?

In this case, the pictures were taken by a British agency I think they were originally owned by Popperfoto...
