Is there an online resource listing which TOTP episodes have existing audio clips..? Lostshows doesn't seem to indicate where there are sound recordings.
Just need to check something out...

There was, a long time back, a partial list compiled here. Some of the info came from Keith Badman, who identified some audio copies himself. It wasn't a full list, by any means, as there do seem to be a large number of off-airs turning up all the time. There may be some details still on here although i'm not sure where. From memory, there were some very good quality recordings from the first few months (1964) and a decent scattering across the following years. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I used to tape OGWT every week in its early days (the old Dansette mike in front of the tv) to listen to at another time, as it was on too late with school next day. But (sigh) I always reused the tapes. Little did I know that national television and radio organisations were working on the same principle.......

That must have been quite the shocker after learning that they were involved in similar ( professional wiping-reuse practices there). At least you were able to start recording before bedtime.(Ever manage to sneak downstairs to catch a bit of OGWT on the telly? )

No timers then of course!

Did you do the same with Disco 2, Brian? Not that you'd have kept the recordings, I know. That's one significant music series that almost totally fallen through a black hole archivally.

It's very frustrating knowing that I could have retained some c90s ! The only one which survived for any length of time was Roy Buchanan's set on OGWT, and that may well have survived in the archive anyway. By 'length of time' I think I wiped over the tape in about 1979......

My old buddy Pete Seaton might know if there are any more - 18-5-73 has turned up very recently.

Also 10/02/77 which until very recently I believed to exist in the archives, and about half of 08/09/77.

I take it people do know about the transcription discs for TOTP which are on sale at Ebay? There are a couple for 1966ish I think listed at the moment. It's one of those things that's so obvious it's possibly worth mentioning in case it isn't, if you see what I mean...

That isn't the same TOTP though, Tim. These discs were from the World Service radio show of the same name rather than the TV series (interesting though these are in their own right).
