But even *if* Bob Monkhouse taped it on his own video recorder, they'd be much the same quality as the tapes Ray Galton had made for *his* home video machine - monochrome and wobbly! In fact they'd probably be marginally worse, as Galton's tapes were dubbed direct from the masters, whereas Monkhouse's hypothetical recordings would have been made via aerial.

Well, if anyone in the vicinity of a set of Canadian newspapers wants to have a quick shufti through the early 70s TV listings...
(I would, but there aren't any in my neck of the woods, which is faintly annoying as it's kyboshed me on two or three things I wanted to research.)

good point about the TR16s, if the archives list something as existing would they be less inclined to look for better quality copies?
