GRR. I just got a phone call from the seller - someone apparently emailed him (shortly after I posted my note above) claiming that the BBC would pay lots of money, or "trade" something for the print etc etc... To whoever did that - it's NOT TRUE. Stop confusing things. I had to explain to him that some fans are just over the top in their enthusiasm and don't know what they're talking about...

I spoke with the seller five days ago. The seller said I should check back frequently in case they get any more episodes for auction. With some idiot telling the individual that the prints are valuable, what are the chances of them putting any more Doctor Who prints up for auction?

Yeah. If I ever saw a missing one on Ebay I wouldn't post it here, or anywhere. The people who count will already know about the film, and the resultant storm of hysteria can jeopardise the recovery or push the price through the stratosphere. Keep it to private messages.
Cool to see a Who episode on 16mm though, they are incredibly rare and whoever won it got it for a bargain. ;D

I posted it after the auction was over (I was the one who won it, BTW, and yes, it was a bargain - I was quite surprised that no one bid against me) thinking that people might like to know that there weren't any others. Next time I wont do even that ....
Ally is right though that if you see something you think is missing on ebay, posting it in public (while the auction is running) is not a good idea... Tell someone who knows about films or who works at the BBC (like Paul Vanezis or Steve Roberts) and then stay out of the bidding...

Next time I wont do even that .... That would be a wise precaution. I believe there are trolls and hoaxers that view the forum. They would do anything to frustrate our attempts to locate missing material. By them sending that e-mail to the seller, that might have closed down a possible outlet in the future.
