Sorry, NOT directly related to missing episodes, but I have read conflicting reports as to whether Nicholas Courtney has died. Some sites list him as having died in his sleep, while others insist this is a hoax. No sites such as BBC News or The Guardian have listed him as being dead. I remember there was a sick hoax a while ago on missing episodes about being having supposedly died when they were still alive.
Does anyone have any definitive news about this great man?

Things NOT to say in heaven...No 1: "Chap with the wings...five rounds rapid!" R.I.P. Nicholas Courtney. A true star of 'Who' and one of the nicest people I ever met at a convention. His on screen chemistry with various Doctors and his off screen enthusiasm for the programme were legendary. Thank you Brigadier for all those hours of childhood (and now 40somethinghood!) excitement and enjoyment. Happy Days What!!

That IS very sad news indeed. A bit unexpected too. Definitely his character of the Brigadier is one of the most memorable and enjoyable in Doctor Who's history. He hooked me into the Pertwee era at the time as much as the doctor himself. It's been a very sad week for people dying with Alfred Burke going a few days ago.
R.I.P.

I too am very saddened by this news. He was the perfect actor for the role and, as someone on msn said, I felt like he really WAS a Brigadier/Colonel. I just hope the role isn't reprised with Jon Culshaw in the next series

He'll be sadly missed:-(
Thinking about it the three really significant companions from the original series have to be Jamie, Sarah Jane and the Brig. I hope that 2|e dedicate a DVD release to him. We've recent lost Barry Letts and Nicholas Courtney - two people who made the Pertwee era.

Interesting song there Tim, thanks for the post there. Likewise am very very very saddened to hear of Nicholas Courtney passing on. I agree, he really had a massively major role in shaping the feel( charisma is you will ) of the Pertwee Years for myself as well there. Rest In Peace, you are dearly missed by many. And thank you so very much for all the great lasting tele-visual memories you have brought to the minds and imaginations of fans, across the globe!! Indeed James, that was a part of the chemistry of the show really. Could see in "The Three Doctors" and "The Invasion" the re-pore between Troughton and the Colonel-Brigadier: " Looking for some D&^N Fool Flute " ;D Cheers, Lance.
