Looking forward to giving this a watch. I would imagine this would appear on BBC4 at some point.

Thanks Ian for this, would have missed it otherwise. There's a repeat showing on BBC2 Scotland on Saturday for those who wish to watch it on TV.
Next on: Saturday, 23:15 on BBC Two (Scotland only) SynopsisGerry Rafferty, who died in January, was one of Scotland's best loved singer/songwriters, famous around the world for hits such as Baker Street and Stuck In The Middle With You.
This ArtWorks Scotland film, narrated by David Tennant, tells the story of Rafferty's life through his often autobiographical songs and includes contributions from Gerry's daughter Martha and brother Jim, friends and colleagues including Billy Connolly, John Byrne and Joe Egan, admirers such as Tom Robinson and La Roux, and words and music from Rafferty himself.

Another vote of thanks for the alert on the doc, I just watched it and really enjoyed it. It wasn't just a piece of hagiography and gave a well-balanced view of his life and career from the people who knew him best. Definitely deserves an outing on BBC4.

Yes, I managed to catch this on iplayer yesterday. A nicely made tribute that gave me a lot of facts on the man that I never knew, mixed with some interesting clips and actual interview footage. I was never a fan of his solo work, so for me Stealers Wheel is the thing that I remember him for, although it was all absorbing to watch. It was quite sad though to see Joe Egan so clearly upset when talking about his friend.

I've just watched this, I was able to record it on Freesat.
What a heartfelt tribute it was. I highly recommend it if anyone can get it on iplayer or rebroadcast.

I'd just like to point all Rafferty aficionados to a "new" CD that's just been released, a "2CD Collectors Edition" of "City To City" which finally includes the B-Side of the "Baker Street" single plus a few interesting demos, among them the original "Baker Street" with Gerry playing the guitar intro (as heard in the documentary).
The artwork of the booklet features the original "punkish" cover drawing which was shown in the documentary.
