Nor me, (being too young and only moving to the Border TV area in 2000 and leaving in 2005). These clips come from their own archive at Border TV. The STUDIOS in the area of Harraby (Durranhill to be exact) are going to be closed soon, but the archive is AFAIK not there. The Beatles clip on there has been bootlegged.
Like every area, Cumberland and Dumfriesshire had many rock and popstars play there. I was amused to find that David Bowie and Black Sabbath had played gigs in Carlisle in 1969 (SEPARATELY!); the Ramones in 1976 - one of their first few UK gigs, and Alex Harvey in my old hometown of Gretna in 1965!
Wow....just imagine if TV cameras had captured some of those!

This is interesting. I didn't even know there was a Border archive. I figured that most of their programmes went to that great vault in the sky! Does any body here know more about it or what it contains? I guess it is just filmed insert material they hold and not video or telerecordings of complete programmes but I am interested to know how much material there is and how far it dates back. Another interesting collection that isn't generally known about.

Well there's some on YouTube there, where you found this. The Wikipedia page for Border TV lists a bit of history. Border made only a tiny amount of shows compared to the rest of the ITV network - they were best known for Mr and Mrs - I am not particularly expect in this area, but apart from Channel TV (C.I.), they produced a very low amount of programming BY COMPARISON. Nevertheless, like all Regional broadcasters, anything they had left is important. Border were basically bought out by Granada before the merger.
In respect of their archive, you'd have to ask someone more in the know than me! I only facts aboot the know the transmission area, really, which is pretty common knowledge anyway.
