That's a bit too vague to go on. Any more info at all? I haven't heard anything about it. Sounds like a rumour passed on by a bloke down the pub, i'm afraid!

The Tiswas Appreciation Society have a number of missing editions ex-1500 or VHS cassette. I'm not aware of any new discoveries.

Thats all the info. I heard it from a friend who said they were from the 79-80 series.

Confirmed on TISWAS Online
''Hello all,
I am enormously excited that in the last few weeks two new Tiswases have turned up, previously thought missing. The first show of the 1979-1980 series, courtesy of Paul Heeley and soon to be transferred to disc by Peter Thomas. And 44 minutes of the first show of the following series, courtesy of Mike Murphy. This appears to be a copy of a copy, but Mike cannot lay his hands on the original, and it is perfectly watchable and a lot of fun.''

That's a bit more good news to add to the recent recoveries then. Thanks for the info, Joe.

Yes indeed. It all helps. Have copies of these episodes and the others you mention Chris been offered to Kaleidoscope or anyone for safe keeping?

I believe Tiswas online will be keeping them safe until needed

That is great news that more discoveries have turned up for this show. One person they could ask, if they haven't already is Terry Jones, who is always very keen on having his own personal archive of everything he has appeared in. As he appeared in three shows according to Tiswas Online, it is entirely possible that he has copies of the entire show that he appeared in.

I believe Tiswas online will be keeping them safe until needed We certainly will (I'm one of the team over there)! Since we set the site up in early 2004, we've been on a bit of a quest for finding missing episodes. No doubt everyone on here knows of the dire state of the Tiswas archives, although we now believe that's mostly down to the fact that they weren't usually recorded at all (even the final 81-82, Tarrant-less, series was haphazardly recorded). Kal's Lost Shows site details what officially exists, and this matches with what Granada Media (as was) in Perivale told me back in 2004. It's actually a lot more than these 2 episodes that have been 'discovered'. We've been steadily turning up 'new' lost shows over the years, and ITV are well aware of what we have. Indeed many clips from our collections turned up in 'Tiswas Reunited' in 2007. We're working on detailing them all in the site's Episode Guide. To clarify, these 2 most recent discoveries weren't full programmes (although the majority of our 'finds' have been complete programmes), but segments of the shows which were privately recorded mainly to capture pop group appearances and such.

Thanks for the update, Lee. Keep us in the picture with rediscovered episodes. All fascinating to know.

can you tell us which pop groups/songs were on the tape?

I think ELO and Darts are on the one show (first show of the 79/80 series), and for the other one we have a rather more detailed description (provided by 'staplingmachine', another one of our team, and also a member on here): There's a nice article about these shows on wipednews.com and we've been asked to take part in an interview about the Tiswas 'discoveries', so hopefully watch out for that soon!

I'd have suggested going to this site; www.tiswasonline.com/, but they're having a few problems.I'm always worried that something similar could happen here.
