I have 19 reel to reel audio tapes, at least some of which may contain off-air recordings of 1960s BBC radio. (The original owner is known to have made a lot of such recordings in the 1960s.) I have no equipment to play the tapes and I don't know what is on them - specifically whether any of it might be "missing" material of interest.
Would I be right in thinking that there is no one at the BBC who would take these tapes and investigate their contents? If that is the case is there anyone here who would like to do that, and, if any material of interest is found, pass it on to the BBC?
Thanks for any replies,
Andrew

You could contact Kaleidoscope (Chris Perry reads this site quite often) as they may be able to check out your material to see if anything's rare or missing (they mainly deal with TV but possibly will help with radio too). Ultimately they will offer it back to the BBC or whoever but you may get more of a quick response from them. They're very reliable. Kal are at: www.kaleidoscope.org.uk/

Hi Andrew, well I run a record label that legitimately issues compilations of 60s BBC music licensed from the Beeb, some from off air sources, some from the BBC themselves. I'd be happy to go through your tapes and let you know the contents. All the best Nigel www.topsoundsrecords.co.uk

If you find any Clitheroe Kid Episodes on these please could you mention it in the post. I am the collector mentioned in The Clitheroe Kid finds thread.
Thanks Derek
