Mildewed tape doesnt sound massively promising. Rainham is about 45 minutes outside of london to the south east isnt it? Good luck if anyone goes for restoring this item. Its cheap at least.

I've put a bid on, but doubt it'll go for a fiver, but, if i do win it, is anyone willing to help me pick it up, as it's a two man job, and i'd rather that the tape goes to someone who knows what their doing.

Well I'm bound to say that you have not improved your chances of winning by highlighting the auction on this of all forums Jeremy!

Well I'm bound to say that you have not improved your chances of winning by highlighting the auction on this of all forums Jeremy! Ah, well, you see, theirs a method to my madness! At least it'll go to a good home if someone from here wins it, and they'll be able to see if the tape is salvagable (though i doubt nothing will be recovered from it judging by the state of the tape!)

Looks like someone wants it more than me, just hope it's someone from here!

I think this is the one where to connect to your TV set, you had a lead with a cap which was clipped over a valve in your tv set....not for the faint hearted

6 days to go, i'm only going up to a certain amount, would be nice to own one of the earliest video players and to try and restore it, it'll give me something to do at weekends.
I'm guessing it'll need a converter type thing so it'll play on 625 lines...i'll have to read up on it all now.
