well that's it as i say its only my choice it just goes to show the diversity that top of the pops had in my opinion it was best in the 60s & 70s simply because i think the songs were so much better. if only one of these existed it would be great.

Hello Alan, Found one of the other clips you were wondering about I believe. EasyBeats-Friday On My Mind (Looks like a TOTP Performance ?Apparently looks to be from German TV upon further investigation, Many Thanks Peter!) www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zB0RygrYy8&fmt=18Hope this helps, would also really like to see the Pink Floyd "See Emily Play". Have heard mixed whispers and rumors about their performance as to whether it actually exists or not.The same goes for the two rumored 60's editions of Top Of The Pops that are held in private collection in the US reportedly? But this rumor has been around for a while, and have not heard anything about this lead for a while. Am hoping some day they turn up (if they are actually in existence that is?) as would be great indeed to have a chance to see. I have also attempted to track down The Move performance of "Chinatown" in 1971. Was great when The Move performance of "California Man" was recovered, was great to see, only leaves me wishing that more has survived in some shape or form.I have similarly been looking for Slade's " Shape Of Things To Come" from Top Of The Pops in 1970, would be great to see them in their skinhead days in colour, a great track as well. Also of note should state that have been in negotiations for a copy of a partialy degraged N1500 tape transfer which has part of a 70's edition of Top Of The Pops recorded on it, but apparently the tape was in a bad state and could not replay the whole tape, and had to be rushed back to the owner after a time I was told, am still in negotiations for this material, will state more there once I recive the info. So, there is a slight glimmer of hope there. Have seen a good deal of Top Of The Pops items make their way back to the archives of late,so never say never, as who knows what may or may not turn up given time. Cheers, Lance.

Alan, I believe the 'disc' from 30-5-74 was probably a chart rundown playing the track over it? The Pan's clip is 6-6-74. The Easybeats clip doesn't look like TOTP to me though! Regards Mark

The Easybeats clip is from German TV... I think it's "Beat Club". That type of microphone and being sourced from VT as well as being not lit too well is usually a sign of mid 60's German music TV material.
They also appeared on "Beat Beat Beat" round the same time only there, they performed it live and a fine energetic performance it is too!

A nice idea to list some performances because there's always a chance someone on the board may have seen it or have some additional info on it. I'd love to see Seaside Shuffle by Terry Dactyl again.I remember it quite clearly(wasn't some guy wearing a seagull on his head??......maybe his name ws Cliff!!!) I've also seen slowed down footage of Judy Teen. It's actually from the 23rd May 74 and was repeated the following week. Not a lot of footage exists of the 'original' Cockney Rebel and unfortunately Harley would be quite happy with that fact.

Deep Purple - Strange Kind Of Woman
That would be great!
Also, I don't know if Kaleidoscope/Fairfield Parlour ever made it onto TOTP but if they did then it would make for some interesting footage.

Wasn't Good ,Bad & The Ugly shown on Sounds Of The Sixties? Can't access my tape of it at the moment, but seem to think that they were dancing in front of a rear projection of some flames.
