Can anyone tell me the broadcast date of the missing Orson Welles interview?
And also these interviews which do exist:
John Wayne Robert Mitchum Ingrid Bergman Lillian Gish
Lastly, can anyone clarify if Gregory Peck, Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas or Paul Newman were ever interviewed on the show?
I know the Lennon interview has been discussed before on these pages. Apparently Bill Cotton asked Parky to get the interview repeated following his murder. When Parky told him it was wiped, Cotton replied "There will be a bootleg copy somewhere in the BBC!"
Cheers

Orson Welles - the missing one was tx'd 07/08/1971, the second one - which still exists - on 17/11/1973.
John Wayne - 01/02/1974 exists Ingrid Bergman - 11/10/80 exists Lillian Gish - 15/11/1980 exists
Kirk Douglas was on Parkinson on 03/02/1979 (exists) but I can't see any sign of the others you mention, but then I don't have a note of the date for Robert Mitchum either - and I thought Bergman did the show more than once but I could be wrong.
Of the other main British chat shows, Gregory Peck did Wogan (25/09/1989), Kirk Douglas was also on Russell Harty Plus (20/01/1973), Aspel & Company (09/03/1985) and three different Wogans. Burt Lancaster was on Russell Harty Plus on 23/03/1974 and Paul Newman did Aspel & Company (09/06/1991) and Friday Night With Jonathan Ross (03/09/2004).

The Robert Mitchum interview (tx date unknown by me) definitely exists. An edited version of it was screened in the week after Mitchums' death.

As far as i'm aware the copy of Parkinson with John Lennon is not complete. I think it was originally kept by the Lennons on Video tape and subsiquently parts of it copied to film. It is believed that the tape either no longer exists or is not in a good way.
I have also been led to believe that a copy of the film version has been returned to the BBC.
Perhaps Andrew Martin can confirm just what state this is in.

My Mum often recalled the Mitchum interview as I grew up saying it was one of the funniest ones since he didn't make it easy for Parky, saying "Yip!" and "Nope!" a lot and the edited repeat after his death seemed to had cut a fair bit out. Parkinsons modern day intro recounted it as not being a pleasant experience.
The classic one for me is this...
PARKY - Did you always want to be an actor? MITCHUM - No! I wanted to be Queen! (Mitchum pulls a face and rolls his eyes)

I've said this before but I returned a lo-band copy of the Lennon interview to the BBC via BBC Motion Gallery a couple of years ago which was a copy of Yoko Ono's tape. It looked like a copy of a tele-recording which would make sense as it could have been for either for the "Imagine" doc or just made for John & Yoko to keep and as they moved to the USA just after the Parkinson show, a film would have been easier than a PAL tape in those days...

I've just bought a Classic Albums DVD which features Lennon's first solo album "Plastic Ono Band". It contains a clip of the Parkinson interview.
