Basically .. sometime back in 2006 or so, this person is responsible for perpretrating a hoax of massive proportions. He claimed to have found Marco Polo 4: The Wall of Lies at a flea market in Australia. The hoax got strung out for a couple of months, until it all fell apart, and basically turned into (pardon the pun) a "wall of lies". It was all a scheme to draw attention to his now-defunct Doctor Who online forum, titled "A Journey to Cathay" (yet another Marco Polo reference).
I won't go into details (way too complex) but basically Mr. Ainsworth seems to have made himself persona non grata in the Doctor Who community.

Apart from anything else, how do you survey missing episodes? They are, quite literally, not there.
AA is still trying to lure people onto his websites. I guess his success rate isn't too high.

My word... five years since Mark P did his poll. I remember that - if you'd have asked me when it was I'd have said two or three at the most. I guess time really does fly...

It would have looked slightly better had an effort been made to make the questions relevant.
Asking crap like 'Have you seen the recovered NZ clips on the BBC website' is pure laziness - after all most people will have seen them on Lost in Time (or the Faceless Ones/Web of Fear VHS, or the Seeds of Death DVD)....
However, a new Missing Episodes survey conducted properly (and by someone with a modicum of respect) would be a good idea.

Thanks for the comment I have updated the question to reflect the people who may of viewed the DVD/VHS. The new question is now:

Just to correct you it was the An Unearthly Child forum.

Andrew, do you truly have nothing better to do?
I pity your attempts to rehabilitate yourself. Surely you should know by now that you have no future in Missing Episode circles re Dr Who. You would be better off doing something else.
I say this out of kindness. Give up. Please.

Phew! A lot of people seem to be getting all bent out of shape for nowt. If you don't wish to converse with this person - just ignore him. Answering his posts and entering into a lengthy conversation via multiple postings only serves to raise your blood pressure higher - and what good will that do anyone? Andrew - might I suggest you do the same?
A lot of people in here seem to perpetuate their own ill-feeling toward each other by courting inflammatory argument. If you don't want anything to do with each other then leave each other alone.
Honestly, it's like a slanging match between Primary School kids...

No worries... No offence intended to anyone - merely a little perspective. Apologies if I hurt anyone's feelings...
