Just spotted the "Space Adventures" sound track on an internet auction site, it has got me thinking... how much of the original incidental music exists from the sixties and seventies ? I understand that a lot of the "Library music" would still exist (probably with Julian Knott at DWAS), but does any other composed music for episodes exist ?
Also, I understand that all the missing Dr Who episodes exist in audio format, is this the case or are a few still missing ?, and what quality are they in ??
Thanks, Richard

All missing Dr who exists in audio format, thankfully. Sound quality varies, but they are mostly pretty listenable What I am interested to know is this, where any Dr who stories known to have been recorded prior to marco polo?? So if one of them had been missing, would we still have audio for it? What is the earliest found recording of a dr who episode? I wouldnt mind getting hold of the space adventures recording. I found it on a bittorrent site, but it had no seeds and its long out of print. Theres a few other good ones like the tomb of the cybermen and tenth planet music soundtracks, I think they are quite hard to find though.

What is the earliest found recording of a dr who episode? Graham Strong made his reel-to-reel recordings right from the first episode, but from all of those known to still exist, the earliest is Marco Polo #1, so we're indeed fortunate that the first three stories survive in full at the BBC. If he started with the first episode, how did he know he was going to like it enough to go to the trouble of recording it, I wonder...

I recorded the first ever episode of red dwarf on my old betamax when it was first broadcast as I just had a weird feeling it was going to be good. Maybe he had a similar vibe about who? Maybe he was just sci fi hungry? Who knows??
