Here would be a possible posting for Boston... ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + The BBC is searching for color copies of 13 episodes of the series Doctor Who. Though filmed in color, these episodes today exist in the archives only as black-and-white prints. Color footage is sought to restore these episodes for release on DVD. In the 1970s, as many as 11 of the 13 episodes were broadcast in color on WGBH Boston (Ch. 2 / Ch. 44). The episodes come from the stories ‘The Ambassadors of Death’ and ‘The Mind of Evil.’ If you have a videotape of these episodes in color or have any information about color copies of these episodes, please contact the BBC by sending an email to: info@restoration-team.co.uk There is further information at: www.restoration-team.co.uk/ See the link “Can You Help Us?”

Here would be a possible posting for Buffalo... In the 1970s, 11 of the 13 episodes were broadcast in color on WNED Buffalo (Ch. 17). The episodes come from the stories ‘The Ambassadors of Death’ and ‘The Mind of Evil.’ In fact, Buffalo-area recordings of some of these episodes have been recovered already, but these suffer in part from broadcast interference, making them problematic for use in DVD restoration. Good idea why not post the treasure hunt address as well. And also i would recommend to anyone with spare time to go to car boot sales. Their is a chance however small that an episode could be found in this way. Evil 2 and Faceless Ones 3 turned up in this way. You can find who DVDS and videos etc which make a few bob on ebay if you go.

i know this may sound dumb, but why not try putting these up on Craig's List, the online classified site? There is a different page for each area, at least in the US, and I'll post it for you, if given the permission to copy and paste the ads you wrote.... (Sorry if it seems like a bad idea, but it could not hurt either. ) EDIT: I also run a small fan site Doctor Who America/Worldwide, geared towards American fans, and could also have a page on that as well, which I'm shocked I never thought of before.

Toms: Yes, please put this up on your webpage too if you are so inclined and spread the word in any other way you can. Not only does Craig's List not sound dumb to me, but this is exactly what I am suggesting should be done and it is also exactly what I am doing and have been doing recently. Again, here are some Craig's List examples... Sydney, Australia: sydney.craigslist.org/com/392148358.htmlAuckland, New Zealand: auckland.craigslist.org/com/392138081.htmlHong Kong: hongkong.craigslist.org/com/391889585.htmlSingapore: singapore.craigslist.org/com/392130095.htmlChicago: chicago.craigslist.org/chc/com/396304898.htmlLondon: london.craigslist.org/com/396310814.htmlBy the way, I would post to other Craig's List websites, but Craig's List prevents too many similar postings to their websites. There is no Craig's List Sierra Leone, but I found a discussion forum about Sierra Leone. I then had to post a reply to update the contact information. Apparently the BBC Treasure Hunt effort is no longer in operation. Sierra Leone: www.network54.com/Forum/14229/And note the posting to a Yahoo Group dealing with kinnescopes: tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/kinnescopes/And collectors of 16mm films: movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/16mmfilms/?yguid=283757239And here's an appeal to fans of Patrick Troughton to get the word out: tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/patricktroughton/?yguid=283757239These are just electronic messages in bottles tossed out onto the internet ocean.
