Yes - I'm a "Doubting Thomas" too. Not surprising really, considering my last name...

O.k.....
What was the update? That you are waiting?
I hope to god this is true, it was my favorite Target as a kid...but after reading evreything I've read about the missing ones over the last few days, I must admit it seems highly unlikely..

OK, let's be rational. This is probably a hoax. It may be true. From another thread we know that it comes from a young lad who may be gullable enough for a determined hoaxer. And yet, we know that these negotiations can take a while and are delicate matters. So why not wait at least a week before asking, not demanding, the proof? People are asking for updates in less than a day of the first posting. He may well come on, red faced, and say he was hoaxed and is sorry. In the meantime, all you're doing is feeding the - possible - hoaxers ego by the constant wishing/hoping/demanding it's true. The hoaxers have huge pots of Glee to rub their hands in.

Really? - how do you *know* this? Who is Matt101? Why is he making "direct contact" (wasn't he going on holiday)? I thought Ian Levine was going to make the contact? Forgive my cynicism, but if Matt101 exists outside of a hoaxers imagination in my view it would be more helpful if he kept quiet until someone with a real name verifies whether any of this is true. The whole thing smells like a hoax to me.

Hi Graham, Of course I don't know for sure. I can only go on what I read in the earlier thread. I could be Matt101, you could be Matt101. No one knows for sure. It's an anonymous world in the Internet. As I said, it's probably a hoax and I'll only believe episodes have returned when I see them. All I'm saying is that when rumours surface, like this one, and the forum gets flooded with people wishing it is true, it gives the hoaxer the fix he needs. If no-one responds, either we'll be flooded with hoaxes or - maybe - the hoaxers will dry up and blow away. See, even I have wishfull thinking! I believe that there are some episodes out there. If they do surface it will be a sudden and unrumoured thing as in the case of Masterplan 2.

I don't think Matt is a hoaxer himself -- he emailed me demanding to know if I had any missing episodes which I doubt he would have done if he were just trying to perpetrate a hoax on his own.....
However, I do think he's being hoaxed by whoever is claiming to have these episodes. It's all complete nonsense.

Announcing that you may have found something you've never seen is asking for trouble. Mat101 is posting from an Energis Dialup/DSL IP, probably in Yorkshire. His second post is via a Cable and Wireless service in Munich, Germany. However, it is still an Energis connection so may be going that way for routing purposes. Regards, Paul

This is pretty crazy unfortunately. I may be wrong but I don't think he means episode 1 just 2-6 - what a coincidence as we've already got episode 1. The chances of the five episodes from exactly the same story being returned is almost impossible as each episode was on a different film reel as with everything else. I'd be in cloud nine if it did happen but it's not going to I'm afraid. We could strike gold in the future and find a single episode of Web somewhere but the five missing ones all together?! oh dear that does sound odd
