Some dude just sold me a bridge in New York city. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can turn this into a money making scheme?

Who knows what this might lead to, probably nothing. However, rumours have persisted over the years that this story does indeed exist in private hands. I feel it might well do, though if this is the contact Matt has made remains to be seen. "Web" is without doubt one of the true classics of WHO, I'm lucky to be of an age to remember its original transmission, though subsequent audios, telesnaps and clips, as well as the existing episode of course, have kept my memory of it fresh. Always seemed strange to me that the powers that be would so wantonly destroy such an iconic piece of telefantasy, its not that its reputation has grown over the years. No, I remember right from its original transmission it was seen as classic TV. Still, we're notorious in this country for putting people in positions of power who have a worryingly tenuous grasp of what goes on in the real world. Oh well, lets just hope.

when you say eps 2-6 I take it you mean 1-6 but omit the first because we already have a copy?

This is pretty crazy unfortunately. I may be wrong but I don't think he means episode 1 just 2-6 - what a coincidence as we've already got episode 1. The chances of the five episodes from exactly the same story being returned is almost impossible as each episode was on a different film reel as with everything else. I'd be in cloud nine if it did happen but it's not going to I'm afraid. We could strike gold in the future and find a single episode of Web somewhere but the five missing ones all together?!

Your opinion, or what you've been told? And when you say "from Hong Kong", I presume you mean from the TV station there.

Episode 1 was returned by Asia Television in Hong Kong. I assumed ATV returned parts 2-6 some time earlier, which meant they got junked, while part 1 came back late enough to survive the purge. I guess it's possible parts 2-6 fell into the hands of a private collector. It's also highly improbable. This is a classic case of believe-it-when-I-see-it.
