Judging that clips from "Power of the Daleks" recently turned up, I'm hopeful that a whole episode or two might be out there. I mean Elektro still exisits, and that should in reality probably gone the way of the Trylon ane Perisphere. Unfortunately clips of DW turning up, as part of programme material that was retained from the start as useful to the BBC long-term and not saddled with the same rights probelms, has no bearing on the possibility of whole episodes turning up... I think what Andrew meant was that the sources of the newly found clips didn't relate in any way to enterprises prints of 'Dr Who'. Some of these were clips in other shows; and some were from various off air transmissions recorded for the BBCs purposes. Episode 6 of 'Power' was; as far as I can remember; transmitted from a 35mm T/R; which could imply it has a better chance of survival than the others. Which were tx'd from VT. It would be nice; I agree; if any of the material shot on film for the serial turned up.

Episode 6 was indeed recorded to and transmitted from a 35mm telerecording. However, as the Film Library junked the print many years ago, it has no better chance than any other missing episode turning up. Richard

As a lady at the BBC said 'They were put on video tape after we filmed them. When we sold them some were converted back to 16mm reels and then sent them, becasue not all contries were on them at the time. So they are out there Somewhere...' I hope that this gives any doctor who Fan who has lost his faith in the lost episodes, hope once again. Support the BBC releases!!!! ;D It would give hope, but somebody at the BBC telexed the countries that bought Doctor Who in the 70s with an order to either return the prints or destroy them and send a certificate of destruction back to the BBC. The hunt to destroy black and white episodes in the 70s occurred not only at the BBC, but overseas tv stations as well.
